Washington and Canada
Weekend trip to Seattle, Washington (USA) and Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada)
Itinerary for Girls Trip in Washington and Canada
Friday
We flew into Sea-Tac. We picked up a rental car from the airport and headed straight to the Pike Place Market. We walked around, saw the fun flying fish scene from the fish market, and the gross yet iconic gum wall. From there, we walked to the Biscuit Bitch for breakfast.
After breakfast, we drove to the Space Needle. From the top, you are able to see over all of Seattle. Then, right across is the Chihuly Garden and Glass which is a fun glass museum. We got tickets that included both attractions, which was a bargain. I recommend doing both! Before leaving Seattle, we stopped to pay a visit to the Fremont troll.
Soon after, we headed out for our mini road trip to Vancouver, BC. The drive usually takes about 2.5 hours from Seattle to Vancouver, but since we went in February and there was snow, the drive ended up taking us about 3.5 hours, but was completely worth it. Right after checking in to our hotel, we headed off to see the Gastown Steam Clock, explore the city, and have some dinner.
Saturday
The next morning we got up and had some coffee and doughnuts from Tim Hortons. After breakfast, we headed over to Stanley park where we walked around and got to see the A-maze-ing Laughter statues.
We really thought it could not get better than that. But we were wrong! We headed over to the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge which was definitely my favorite part of the trip. It was snowing and icy so we couldn't go past the bridge, but the bridge was beautiful.
We then headed to have lunch at the Teahouse in Stanley Park. The drive there was so beautiful and when we got there, out the window from our table we were able to watch the snow come down over the ocean while we enjoyed our food. It was a sight I will never forget. After that, we stopped by the Prospect Point Lookout and got a nice view of the snow covered city.
After lunch we then headed over to the Grandville Island Public Market for souvenirs (and a snow fight).
Later that night we had dinner at the most amazing place, the Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant. Yes, you read that right. When seated high in the air, the restaurant spins (very slowly) but does this so that you can see all of Vancouver from above at night. It was an amazing sight to see. It is pricy, but I thought it was worth it.
Sunday
After checking out of our hotel, we then headed back to Seattle. After about 4 hours later (due to the snow and US Customs) we went straight to the airport to return the car and catch our flights back home. Our Flight ended up getting cancelled after many delays due to a snow storm. We ended up getting a voucher from the airline for a cheap nearby hotel to spend the night. So technically, we did not leave until Monday morning. Check the weather before heading out and planning this trip so you don't get stuck like us!
