How to spend a day in Santa Barbara
Day trip from Southern California
We then headed off for lunch at the Santa Barbara Public Market. Sadly due to covid, there was no seating inside and we were not really feeling any of the food options, so we decided to eat somewhere else.
We decided to go to main street and grabbed some sushi from Kai Sushi Shabu-Shabu. We then sat down at Paseo Nuevo in the shade outside on some tables and enjoyed our lunch. After lunch we grabbed some delicious ice cream from McConnell's and enjoyed it while we walked around to see the beautiful buildings. They all had a similar spanish style, which I LOVE.
After that we headed to the Court House in efforts to climb to the top and see a nice view of the city. However, covid stroke again. The court house did not allow visitors inside without an appointment to minimize incoming traffic in the courthouse, so we just admired the building from the outside.
We then headed on to our hike. We started off at the Goleta Butterfly Grove which leads you to Ellwood Beach. It was easy to carry our son in our baby carrier, we got ours from Amazon. Along the beach there are a few man-made art peices that are fun. The sunset was the best way to end our trip.
