A weekend in San Francisco

How to spend a weekend in San Francisco - Road Trip from SoCal to NorCal - including College visits

Saturday

We started our trip in Southern California and headed straight to Stanford University to visit their museum. The campus was beautiful and was worth visiting. We then headed to the city of San Francisco and checked in to our hotel. We stayed at The Courtyard San Francisco Downtown (at the time), now it is called The Clancy.  We then headed over to Pier 39 and had dinner.  Everything was decorated for the holidays so it was beautiful to walk around and see everything. After our clam chowder bread bowls, we then headed off to sleep.

Sunday

We started our morning with a cup of coffee from Philz Coffee - their Mint Mojito Coffee is my favorite. We then headed to the Ferry Building Marketplace in hopes to find their farmers market. Sadly, the farmers market is only on Saturdays, but we still got to walk around inside and window shop. Just outside the building, you can see the Bay Bridge, so give yourself time to take some photos!

We then headed over to Castro District where the streets are full of color! The cross walk was my favorite part.

Soon after we headed over to see the iconic Painted Ladies also known as the 7 sisters. In the afternoon we went to see the famous Golden Gate Bridge. Prepare to wait in lines to find parking. Overall it's a must when in San Fran!

At night, we had dinner in China Town. We ate at Sam Woo Restaurant .The food was so good! We got super lucky because when we were walking out, there was a line to get seated! - Pssttt- I got my cute coat from Amazon.

Monday

The next day we got up and went to visit The Japanese Tea Garden. It was beautiful! Soon after we made a quick stop to see the University of California, Berkeley . After that, we knew we had a long drive ahead of us, so we grabbed some food to go and hit the road back to our home sweet home.
