How to spend a weekend in Portland, Oregon

Weekend Itinerary to Portland, Oregon

Saturday

We flew into PDX and picked up a rental car on site. We drove off straight to our first adventure in Washington (we come back to Portland, I promise). We hiked Beakon Rock Trailhead. It was beautiful! We went in early February so everything was lush and green and just plain beautiful.

We then drove back to Oregon, to see the Vista House. It offers a nice view of Mirror Lake. We stopped by Multnomah Falls, but sadly the trail was closed.

After that, we headed to the incredibly short hike of Latourell Falls, which was my favorite part of the trip. The hike lets you get up close and personal with a waterfall. If it was not cold, I would have jumped in!

Later that night, we headed over to admire the arts and lights in the Portland Winter Light Festival. It was alot of fun! Before heading back to our Airbnb, we stopped by to see the iconic Portland, Oregon White Stag neon sign

Sunday

The next morning we grabbed breakfast at the Starbucks in Pioneer Courthouse Square and walked around for a bit. We then went to the Keller Fountain Park, but unfortunately the fountain was off. Even still it was nice to see. Then we headed over to Pittock Mansion, which offers views of the city. (We did not go inside, but you should!)

After lunch, we burned off our food hiking the Wildwood Trail, which leads you to the the Witch's Castle. It was pretty cool to see in person. That night we went  drank a flight from the Portland Cider House and then called it a day.

Monday

We got up bright and early to catch breakfast at the Slappy Cakes which was a fun experience. They provide pancake mix and you get to cook and eat right at your table - the same concept as Korean BBQ. Right before leaving for the airport, we stopped by the most beautiful church I had ever seen in my life. The Grotto is a church that has both indoor and outdoor service. The outdoor portion was so beautiful, gives you a feeling like you were in the middle of the mountains, even though it is right in the city.
