3 days in New York, NY

Monday

We flew into JFK. There was a bus outside that takes you to New York City for $29 one way (at the time) and was about a 40 minute drive to the city. Once we got to The Pod 39, we were ready to drop off our stuff and leave. However, things do not always go as planned. They were not able to accommodate early check in, so we had to wait for a couple of hours with our stuff in the lobby. We were tired from the flight so grabbed some coffee from a nearby Starbucks and waited. What I liked about the hotel was the location, it felt safe and there were many things to do around that were in walking distance. Once we were able to drop off our suitcases in the hotel, and that's when the adventure began.

We took an uber to the Grand Central Terminal. It was very busy and there were lots of shops inside which all smelled so good. We then went to see St. Patrick's Cathedral. We walked around for a bit and found a huge Forever 21 store, then headed to Central Park. Let me tell you, this park is H U G E! We spent a good 2 hours walking around, looking at the beautiful fall foliage and taking photos.

After a couple of hours, we then headed to The MET steps. My Best Friend and I are huge Gossip Girl fans, so this was something we HAD to do. We grabbed a Gyro from a nearby food truck, sat on the steps, and people watched as people came in and out of the museum.

We then continued on to visit the Rockafeller Ice Skating Rink. We had all intentions of Ice Skating there, but it was too pricy so we decide just to wait to see if we could find something cheaper. It was still a nice view. We then went to visit Times Square. We wanted to see what it was like in the day and then in the night, so we decided to see it in the day.

We went during Thanksgiving week, so everything was decorated in Christmas lights, it looked so beautiful. We then grabbed a taxi to take us back to our hotel. Taxis are much pricier than uber, but we had to do it at least once when in NYC. We found a pizza place that was still open and grabbed dinner. We then went to our hotel's bar and had a few drinks. We were then exhausted, so we went up to our tiny hotel room and called it a night.

Tuesday

We took a boat to Ellis Island where they provide self guided tours. On the way back, we got to stop and climb the the first part of the iconic Statue of Liberty.

We then headed over to the Fearless Girl Statue (who runs the world? GIRLS!) and Charging Bull Statue in the Financial District - prepare to wait in line for a photo. Then we headed over to the most beautiful memorial, the 9/11 Memorial. Just being there brought tears to my eyes. We then headed back to Times square in hopes of watching a Broadway show. Sadly, all the tickets were sold out (buy your tickets in advance!) Even still, Time Square was so beautiful to see at night, it was as bright and as crowded as in the movies. We then headed back to the hotel, got ready and had drinks at a nearby bar. A few margaritas later, we then headed back to the hotel, ready for another day.

Wednesday

As mentioned before, we are HUGE Gossip Girl fans so we decided to take a visit to Chuck Bass' Hotel Home AKA The New York Palace Hotel (FYI, the New York Palace even made a website for us fans. Check it out here!) We spent some time taking photos and admiring the view. We then walked around and stumbled upon Winter Village at Bryant Park. I am so glad we waited and did not ice skate at the Rockefeller Rink, as this one was half the price and was still lots of fun! We then walked around the market shopped, and enjoyed dinner from the many food trucks and shops . It was a nice way to end our lovely New York trip.
