How to spend a day in Golden, Colorado

Golden is a small town just outside of Denver, Colorado. To be honest, I like it better than Denver itself. It does not have an airport, so if you choose to fly, you will have to fly into DIA then drive for about 35-45 minutes to get to Golden. Once there, head over to brunch and grab a flight from Sassafras American Eatery, Downtown Golden

After brunch, head over to the Coors Brewery. I personally am not a big beer fan (more of a wine kind of person), but this was such a fun experience! At the tome that we went, we went through a self guided tour to see how they make the famous Coors Beers.  When we got there, we got 3 tickets that we got to trade in for beer samples. I suggest saving them for the very end, because the amount you get at the bar (last stop in the tour) is larger than the samples you receive throughout the tour.  Make sure to make a reservation! and be sure to double check that you get the reservation with the beer samples (not just the tour).

After that, walk over to the Clear Creek White Water Park. This is a great place to have a picnic, and bring your bathing-suit to cool down in the water. It is a public park, so there is no fee to enter. People bring their tubes and float along the river. It is usually crowded, so if you don't mind the crowd, this is a great place to relax. There are also many nearby rental places in the downtown area.

After that, head over to Downtown Golden. You can see the beautiful little downtown, visit the shops, and grab dinner to close out your fun day in Golden!
