How to spend the weekend in Buena Park, CA.

Friday

You can get to Buena Park, CA by flying in through LAX which is about 30 minutes away. If you want to fly directly into Orange County, try John Wayne Airport, which is about 15-20 minutes away. A suggestion is to stay at the Knotts Berry Farm hotel. If you want something a bit cheaper but still really close to the park, stay at the Fairfield Inn

Once you get settled in, head straight to the unique Pirates Dinner Show. The tickets can be found on Groupon sometimes and include a 3 course meal that you get to enjoy while you watch the show.

As soon as you arrive, you will notice the fun and detailed pirate décor on the outside. Once inside, you are welcomed by taking photos to remember your night. Then, you head into the waiting area. There is a bar where you can get drinks while you wait, and fun pirate items available for purchase.

About 30 minutes before the show starts, you are guided to your seat where the pirates are seen mingling around with the crowd. Our pirate was HILARIOUS! They encourage you to root for your "section" which makes the show so much fun. #GoTeamRed!

Throughout the night the audience is invited to participate in the show. It was extremely interactive which was pretty cool. A small group and I got invited to take some presents up to the top of the ship which a fun experience. A few kids even got to go on the ship and sing with the pirates!

We went to see the show during December, so it had a Santa theme which gave it a fun twist. The show lasts about 2 hours and you even get sworn in as an official pirate at the end. In all, the Pirates Dinner Show is fun for the whole family and I encourage everyone to go see it!

Thank you Pirates Dinner Show for having us! We loved it, it was a lot of fun! @piratesdinnershow #piratesdinnershow

Saturday

Spend all day at Knotts Berry Farm, aka Knotts Merry Farm. You can still have fun with the family at an amusement park, but without the need to spend an arm and a leg, like at Disney.

Sunday

After checking out of the hotel, head over to breakfast at Eggslice.

Even if you wake up late, they are open until 4pm, making it the perfect place to grab breakfast. They make most of their ingredients in house and most is made to order. Even still, the food is ready pretty quick. They even make their own sauces! To be honest, they were all really good, but my favorite was the green salsa because it was pretty spicy. If you know me, you know I love spicy food. You are even able to purchase the sauces in large containers to take some home with you as a souvenir.

They also have pescatarian options, such as a salmon sandwich. My sister LOVED it. My favorite was the sausage sandwich and the coffee. Eggslice is located on the outskirts of a shopping mall, so there is plenty of parking and seating.

Thank you Eggslice for having us. The food was delicious and approved by each of our picky eaters! #eggslice @eggslice

After breakfast or brunch at Eggslice, head over to The Source to walk around and window shop. The 3 story tall outdoor mall is still growing and has many vacant locations for people to open a shop there, but it still has cute places to see.

As you can see, Buena Park has a little for everyone. Come and visit!
