How to spend a weekend in Big Bear Lake, California
Saturday
We started off our road trip from Southern California in the winter and headed straight to our airbnb. It was a nice and cozy cabin. I loved that it was private, and had a Jacuzzi and fireplace. But my most favorite part about the cabin was that we were able to go visit the llamas that are on site! They even give you some food at check-in to be able to feed them! The area is kid friendly, and even has a shared playground and a fire-pit for s'mores. The location of the cabin was a quick walk from downtown Big Bear, called The Village.
After feeding the llamas and playing in the snow, we freshened up and then left to go grab lunch. We stopped by for pizza at 572 Social Kitchen and Lounge. We went during a time where restaurants were only allowed to serve outside due to covid, and it was cold that day, so their fireplaces looked extra cozy. After lunch we walked up and down Pine Knott Ave.'s nice little shops and got some souvenirs. Then we walked over to Big Bear Lake and played with the ducks and admired the beautiful view.
Later that night, we got take-out from the BEST Indian food place we have ever tried, called Masala Craft Indian Cuisine. The one thing I was most grateful for on our trip was this portable high chair. As the Airbnb did not come with a baby high chair, it made it so easy have dinner all together. After dinner we enjoyed the Jacuzzi, a bottle of wine, and called it a night.
Sunday
The next morning we got up and went to feed the llamas again...we wanted to say goodbye before we had to go :( We then checked out of our airbnb and headed for breakfast and coffee from The Copper Q.
We were going to stop by the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain for the day, but we had to head home. Our weekend was cut short sadly, but you should stop by for some fun! If you don't have kids, or your kids can snowboard and/or ski, you should head over to the Big Bear Mountain Ski Resort for the day. I love to snowboard!
